DAY 1 Journey from your home station to Sheffield and, on arrival, we will make our way to the Novotel, our base for the next four nights.We enjoy free time to explore our new surroundings before meeting for our first evening meal together. (D) DAY 2 This morning, after breakfast, we make our way to the station for our journey to the beautiful spa town of Buxton where we will be met by our character guide who will take us to the stunning Buxton Crescent . Here we will enjoy a premium tour delving into the fascinating history and origins of the famous spa waters bottling some straight from the source to take home with us. Afterwards we make our way to the Pavilion Gardens for a light lunch before rejoining our character guide for a fascinating view of life, both past and present, in the town. We will return to Sheffield by train in time for our evening meal together. DAY 3 This morning, we retrace our steps to the station and board our train bound for the small, pretty village of Grindleford , in Derbyshire, situated on the River Derwent. We will be met by our driver and guide for the day and embark on our “Pub Tours” adventure visiting six of the finest pubs of the area.We indulge in a pre-reserved seat and drink of your choice at each establishment, learning of the history and folklore of these unique pubs, and enjoying fabulous views (lunch can be pre-arranged at one of the establishments).We will return via Grindleford to Sheffield for our evening meal together. (B,D) DAY 4 After breakfast today, we board our private coach and travel to the beautiful Chatsworth Estate . We will enjoy a guided tour * on arrival which will showcase the rich history and artefacts in this wonderful country house. Afterwards we enjoy time to discover the gardens and take lunch at one of the estate eateries before returning by private coach to Sheffield where we will enjoy our final evening meal together. (B,D) *Please note that there will be no guided tour in December, instead the house will be fantastically dressed for Christmas, and we are free to explore on a self-guided visit. DAY 5 After breakfast, we bid farewell to Sheffield and make our way to the station for our homeward journeys. (B)
