39 years ago I launched the Railtrail brand of escorted holidays by train with a vision to combine high quality, personal service and fabulous content in one great value package. This personally compiled new programme of wonderful tours features acclaimed favourites, combined with exciting new tours. We have developed a very successful range of Classic European tours over the years and this time we include the brand new Bruges, Gent & Flanders Steam , visiting Antwerp, Bruges and Gent with trams, steam trains, a boat trip and breweries included, whereas Swiss Maximum Steam features six steam trains, five paddle steamers and a steam tram all on one tour! Our exclusive and limited-edition Grand Tours by Rail programme continues to go from strength to strength too, with two new European additions. The Great Dane is a fabulous and unique round trip across the Danish mainland and islands, with a heritage railway included wherever possible. And The Transpyrenean is our homage to Catalonia, exploring the Pyrenees both sides of the border and marveling at its mountain and heritage railways.
