DAY 3 Today is all about the rails as we visit two of the South West’s best loved railway museums, both housed in former railway buildings. This morning, a short walk brings us to STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway . Here we will walk amongst legendary locomotives while glimpsing rare artefacts and interactive exhibits. This afternoon, a short train journey takes us to Didcot Railway Centre , home of the Great Western Society and its ever-growing collection of items relating to the GWR. (B,D) DAY 4 After breakfast we transfer by coach to the award- winning Hook Norton Brewery for a tour and tasting. The brewery is the finest example of a Victorian Tower Brewery in the country and sticks very much to traditional methods of brewing from using an original steam engine to using Shire Horses to deliver the beer to the local pubs. Following our visit we enjoy free time in the quintessential Cotswold village of Broadway . In the afternoon we visit the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway , beginning our journey at Cheltenhem Racecourse, we steam into the Cotswolds on a scenic line recently extended to Broadway. (B,D) DAY 5 We bid farewell to Swindon and make our way home. (B)
