DAY 12 This morning we travel on one of the fastest trains in India, the Gatimaan Express . During our day we visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Agra Fort and one of the world’s most celebrated structures, the spectacular Taj Mahal . The Taj Mahal is a white marble mausoleum believed to have been completed in 1653 at a cost of approximately £550 million at today’s prices! In the afternoon we drive one hour south to Dholpur where we stay overnight at the Raj Niwas Palace. (B,D) DAY 13 An exciting morning awaits us, as we enjoy a boat ride on the Chambal River famous for rich wildlife including resident alligators ! Our safari river cruise is a birdwatchers paradise as the Chambal riverbanks are the ideal habitat for many migratory and resident birds. Following our exciting morning we drive south-west into Rajasthan state to the Ranthambhore National Park. We stay in Ranthambhore for the next two nights at the Sawai Vilas. (B, D) DAY 14 Our Indian adventure continues today as we venture into the Ranthambore National Park on an early morning safari and afternoon safari by jeep or canter truck . The National Park is most famous for its many tigers but also home to a huge variety of other animals, birds and reptiles (please note it is very likely but not guaranteed to see tigers during the safari) . (B, L, D) DAY 15 This morning we spend the morning relaxing in the National Park and enjoy an early lunch in the resort and before we travel to Jaipur . We will stay like royalty for the next two nights at our base in Jaipur at the exquisite Narain Niwas Palace, a stunning heritage hotel . (B,L,D) DAY 16 Today we travel from Jaipur to the Amber Fort and enjoy a return jeep ride to the fort that is renowned for its combination of remarkable Hindu and Mughal architecture . We also visit the City Palace and Jantar Mantar . In the afternoon we visit to Hathi-Gaon elephant village where we can experience bathing an elephant and getting to know more about these fascinating jumbos. We have time to shop in a local bazaar brimming with colourful local handicrafts and jewellery before we return to our hotel. (B,D) DAY 17 After breakfast we transfer to Jaipur airport for our short flight to Delhi and where we check into the Aloft Hotel close to the airport. We then visit the National Rail Museum that opened in 1977 and
