The Kingston Flyer We will experience a ride in 100-year-old wooden carriages behind a mighty Ab Pacific steam locomotive on New Zealand’s most famous steam train - the “Kingston Flyer”. We travel from Lake Wakatipu along the valley floor with the mountains towering high above us before continuing to the Waimea Plains Railway to see the 1878 Rogers steam locomotive that hauled the original Kingston Flyer train.
