DAY 1 Arriving at our chosen flight check-in desk at London Heathrow Airport to board our morning Singapore Airlines flight to Singapore connecting onwards to Australia. DAY 2 - GROUND ONLY STARTS HERE On arrival at Melbourne Airport this afternoon, we transfer to the Movenpick Hotel, our hotel for the next six nights. Those on our Ground Only package will travel independently meeting us at the hotel and, after check-in, we enjoy free time to explore our new surroundings before dining at leisure. DAY 3 Today, we enjoy a full day at leisure to spend how you please in Melbourne. You can relax and unwind at the hotel, explore this vibrant city on the iconic Tram Route 35 which uses heritage cars, or stroll along the banks of the Yarra River. This evening, we reconvene and enjoy a welcome dinner together at a local restaurant. (B,D)

DAY 4 After breakfast this morning, we journey by road to the gold rush town of Bendigo where we visit the Tramways Museum and explore the hidden treasures and stories that have shaped this community. We continue to Echuca in time to board our vintage paddle steamer enjoying our lunch on board as we roll down the Murray River from the historic port of Echuca. On our return, our coach will take us via Rochester’s fantastic Silo Art Trail to marvel at the magnificent art works arriving back in Melbourne for an evening at leisure. (B,L) DAY 5 This morning, we board the regional express train to the quaint goldfield town of Castlemaine where we embark on a return steam-hauled journey on the Victorian Goldfields Railway along the old branch line crossing timber trestle bridges, winding through beautiful forest scenery, and spotting kangaroos in the bush. On arrival in Maldon, we have time for lunch and to explore this delightfully preserved, historic town wandering amongst the stone buildings and

decorative shop fronts before our return journey to Castlemaine and onwards to Melbourne. (B) DAY 6 Today, our private coach transfers us to Belgrave, the departure point for the legendary Puffing Billy Railway, Australia’s most popular heritage railway located in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. We will experience a fantastic steam hauled journey along the length of the character filled, narrow-gauge line, winding through towering forests, fern gullies, and over historic timber trestle bridges including the iconic Monbulk Creek Trestle Bridge. We’ll have the chance to look around the new Lakeside Visitor Centre and take our lunch before returning to Belgrave and retracing our steps to Melbourne for an evening at leisure. (B) DAY 7 After breakfast this morning, we travel by road to the Newport Workshops of Steamrail Victoria for a private visit to explore their collection and gain an insight into the restoration projects that keep their historic fleet in tiptop shape before

journey on the impressive Zig Zag Railway. We will step back into a bygone era as we wind through sandstone cliffs, lush forests, and sweeping valleys along the unique switchback design of this railway, a zig-zagging route required to climb the steep terrain. Our return journey affords us panoramic views of the Blue Mountains before we retrace our steps to Sydney for an evening at leisure. (B) DAY 13 After breakfast this morning, we will enjoy a full day at the fantastic Sydney Transport Heritage Expo based around Central Station and our tickets include the incredible “Great Train Race” as two historic steam locomotives depart and travel side-by-side through the suburbs. The rest of the day is free to explore the event with steam trains, steamboat cruises, vintage bus rides, heritage displays, and exclusive merchandise available. (B) DAY 14 This morning, we travel by rail to the Lofthus Tramway Museum to explore their large collection of vintage trams including a short return ride along the 4km track before continuing by rail to Albion Park. Here, we have an exciting steam charter aboard the Illawarra Light Railway along the narrow-gauge line and the chance to discover their impressive collection of industrial locomotives including sugar cane, coal mines, and blue metal. We complete our day with a visit to the nearby HARS Aviation Museum for a fascinating guided tour ahead of our return to Sydney for our final evening at leisure. (B) DAY 15 - GROUND ONLY ENDS HERE After our fantastic Australian adventure, we make our way to Sydney Airport for our afternoon Singapore Airlines flight to Singapore connecting onwards to London Heathrow. Those on our Ground Only package will make their way independently to the airport for their chosen flights home. continuing to the Newport Railway Museum with its extensive collection of steam, diesel, and electric locomotives. This afternoon, we will experience a special steam charter in beautifully restored heritage carriages aboard the Bellarine Railway to Drysdale including a yard visit to the historic Lakers Siding Station before returning by road to Melbourne. (B) DAY 8 Today, we join the XPT (Express Passenger Train) travelling in First Class for our day-long journey from Melbourne to Sydney. With a café car on board to purchase meals, snacks, and drinks, we can relax and watch the scenery roll by from the open plains of Australian bush and farmland to the hilly landscapes as we approach Sydney. On our arrival, we make our way to the Rydges Hotel for our seven-night stay and, after check-in, we enjoy an evening at leisure to unwind and dine. G REAT C ANADIAN R AIL A DVENTURE We invite you to join us on our exciting tour of Western Canada and Vancouver Island including the spectacular Canadian Rockies. This tour will present to you a taste of riding classic passenger cars between Vancouver, Kamloops, and Jasper, plus Jasper to Prince Rupert. Additionally, we will cruise through the spectacular inside passageway from the mainland to Vancouver Island and we will travel over the famous Icefield Parkway plus much, much more!

DAY 0 Flights from UK to Seattle for pre-tour night in Seattle and stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton at King’s Street Amtrak station. Alternatively fly into Vancouver tomorrow. DAY 1 Ride Amtrak’s Cascade train number 516 to Vancouver in business class and, on arrival, we visit the Vancouver downtown area where you can get lunch or explore. We then visit the old Canadian Pacific Railroad Station. Here, you will have two options to choose from; ride the West Coast Express train out to Mission City and return on our bus to North Vancouver for hotel check-in OR go directly to the hotel in North Vancouver and check-in. You can enjoy many shops, restaurants and open market with dinner at leisure from the many restaurants to choose from. (B) DAY 2 Departing the hotel, we will go north of Vancouver to the town of Squamish to visit the Railway

DAY 4 Today, we board our charter motorcoach for the journey over the 1937 built Lions Gate Bridge spanning over the Vancouver Harbour. Our motorcoach will take us on a circle tour of Stanley Park continuing through downtown Vancouver along Beach Avenue with a stop at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Center to view Canada’s acclaimed Canadian Pacific Railway 4-4-0 locomotive No. 374 inside the Roundhouse. After an early lunch, we take a walking tour of the ex-Volcano and it’s Queen Elizabeth “Quarry Garden” within the Volcano interior with a stop at the Bloedel ‘Domed’ Conservatory. Afterwards, a very special transcontinental passenger train is waiting for us called “The Canadian” operated by Via Rail Canada. Join your tour guide in the Dome car for “Appies and a Mimosa Cocktail” as we roll Eastbound towards the Fraser and Thompson River Canyons. With June being the longest days of sunlight we will enjoy the scenic views of both canyons since sunset is roughly 9:00pm and darkness at 9:30pm. (L,D)

Museum of British Columbia, home to the famous Royal Hudson steam locomotive and housing the largest collection of railway rolling stock and engines in Western Canada. After our museum visit, we will head back south towards North Vancouver first making a stop to view Shannon Falls then near-by is the Britannia Mine Museum where we enjoy a tour. Returning to North Vancouver, we enjoy a luxurious dinner cruise this evening through Vancouver’s scenic harbour. (L,D) DAY 3 This morning, we board the SeaBus across Vancouver Bay to Vancouver connecting to the Sky Train where we ride on the Expo Line through downtown Vancouver to Surrey. Here, we transfer by highway to the Fraser Valley Heritage Railway for a visit where we enjoy a guided shop tour and a ride down the track. Next, we go by highway to the near-by Burnaby Central Railway, a unique miniature railway, for a ride through the woods, with bridges, tunnels, crossovers, and spirals. Afterwards, we return to our hotel for an evening at leisure. (L)

DAY 9 After breakfast, we board our charter motorcoach and depart Port Hardy passing through lush forests, lakes and mountains to Parksville. As we head south, we will take a side trip to Beaver Cove and continuing on to Woss Camp where we will see the remains of this railroad which was the last logging railroad in North America to operate. After lunch, we continue to the famous Combs Market before reaching Parksville and checking in at the Bayside Oceanfront Resort which is right on the beach. (L) DAY 10 After breakfast, we will travel to the western side of Vancouver Island to Port Alberni passing through the Cathedral Grove of Cedar Trees, much like the Redwoods of California. In Port Alberni we will visit the Alberni Pacific Railway and tour the railway roundhouse and railyards where a variety of steam and diesel engines are maintained. Afterwards, you will have some time to explore downtown Port Alberni. (L) DAY 11 After breakfast, we head to near-by historic Ladysmith and visit the old Ladysmith Esquimalt & Nanaimo Railway Depot. After lunch, we visit the BC Forest Discovery Centre in the town of Duncan with trains operating around their 100-acre museum and time to explore their impressive collection. We continue south into Victoria and check-in at the Best Western Plus Inner Harbour Hotel. The rest of the afternoon and evening at your own leisure to explore colourful Victoria. (B) DAY 12 After breakfast at our hotel, we visit Heritage Acres and the famous Butchart Gardens National Historic Site of Canada. Afterwards, we will make a stop to visit the BC Aviation Museum where the famous Hawaii Mars bomber has just been added to the displays. We return to our hotel in Victoria for our “Farewell to Canada Dinner”. (B,D) DAY 13 After breakfast and hotel check-out, we return to Seattle and overnight at the Seattle Airport Hotel before flight back to UK the next day, Thursday 11 June. DAY 5 Sunrise is shortly after 5:00am and we will be near Blue River, BC and, after departing here, the Canadian Rockies comes into view. Head up into the dome car and enjoy the spectacular show that will unwind as we continue our journey deeper into the Rockies. At Jasper, we transfer from the train to our charter motorcoach and head south on the famous Icefield Parkway. We will make several photo stops on the parkway including at the famous Columbia Icefields before continuing south to Saskatchewan River Crossing, checking-in to our hotel, and enjoying an evening at leisure. (B) DAY 6 After breakfast this morning, we return to Jasper with time to explore before departing onboard the Skeena passenger train. As the Skeena heads westbound out of Jasper we will retrace our route until we reach the junction with the Prince George line. We continue to follow the Fraser River for the next 184 miles all the way to Prince George crossing over the river on three large bridges as the tracks twist and turn through the dense forests and along the shores of several lakes following the Cariboo Mountains. On arrival in Prince George, we visit the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum before transferring to the Courtyard Hotel. (B) DAY 7 After breakfast we return to the train station and reboard the westbound Skeena which snakes out of town as we follow the Nechako River to Fort Fraser. Our scenic journey passes beautiful lakes and follows the Bulkley River, crossing this river 12 times in our journey, to our destination of Prince Rupert. We transfer to the Pacific Inn hotel and relax for the evening. (B) DAY 8 This morning we transfer to the BC Ferry Terminal and set sail to Port Hardy. Our entire voyage through the Inside Passage is incredibly scenic with views of mountains, ocean, islands, and tons of wildlife such as whales, seals and eagles. S TUNNING R AILWAYS OF N ORWAY Norway is a ‘must visit’ place for anyone interested in railways, great scenery, and fascinating culture. This holiday features two of the finest railway journeys in Europe, with the Flam and Rauma railways offering jaw-dropping scenery as they descend from the mountains to deep fjords plus visits to Bergen, Trondheim, and Oslo.

DAY 1 Today we make our way to Bergen and check-in to our hotel located close to the railway station. We have free time to explore Bergen with an evening at leisure. DAY 2 Day dedicated to experience an authentic steam locomotive on the Old Voss Steam Railway. The train runs the 18km stretch between Garnes station and Midttun station passing through the fjord areas, close to the sea and water on one side and steep mountainside on the other. Overnight in Bergen. Welcome dinner. (B,D) DAY 3 We catch the train from Bergen to Myrdal, which is probably the most scenic section of the Bergen Railway. The two-hour train ride ends all too quickly as we reach Myrdal where we join the world-famous line to Flam. We journey along one of the world’s steepest lines to Flam with time to explore the railway museum before returning to Bergen on a boat along the beautiful Sognefjord. (B) DAY 4 Today we move from Bergen to Hamar, a picturesque town on Lake Miosa and the starting point of an atmospheric railway through eastern Norway. (B) DAY 5 First today we visit the Norwegian Railway Museum, situated by the side of a lake just north of the town. This is a fascinating place and has its own narrow-gauge railway, which we will be able to ride on before boarding the Roros Railway. The 431km journey will take us to Trondheim running along the glittering Glomma River, the great forests from Rena to Koppang, and the historic town of Roros. On arrival in Trondheim, we make our way to the hotel for our two-night stay. (B)

DAY 6 Free day to relax in Trondheim or to explore the tramway – the most northerly one in the World. Overnight stay in Trondheim. (B) DAY 7 Today we will travel along a section of the Dovre railways to Dombas and then board the scenic Rauma Railway named as one of the most beautiful railway lines in Europe. The scenery is majestic, with summer snowmelt creating waterfalls which fall hundreds of metres down the sheer valley sides. We arrive in the pretty coastal town of Andalsnes in the afternoon for our overnight stay. (B) DAY 8 Along the Dovre railway we will reach the capital of Norway, Oslo, where we will stay two nights. We have the time to discover the vibrant city of Oslo with a walk through the centre. (B) DAY 9 Day is at leisure in Oslo for a tram ride perhaps to Frogner park with the famous Vigeland statues, or a mini cruise in the Oslo Fjord. For art lovers, one of the many museums could be a target. Dinner in Oslo and overnight. T RAIN TO THE M IDNIGHT S UN Enjoy a wondrous and romantic experience, like a fairy-tale, as we take you by train to Lapland, the Land of the Midnight Sun, where reindeer stroll the streets and Father Christmas is said to live, and where you can ski round the clock in the summer. Along the way, we will occasionally break our journey in order to visit some fabled northern Baroque cities, built on islands and shimmering in the summer sea. DAY 1

DAY 8 Today, the romance of our journey really begins! We take the daytime Trondheim-Bodo service during which we will cross the Arctic Circle; it won’t get dark tonight! Watch in comfort as some end-of-the-world type scenery glides past. (B) DAY 9 We journey by road to Narvik for an afternoon at leisure to explore the museums, exhibits, and fascinating railway station. (B) DAY 10 Today, the return journey starts, all the way from Lapland to London by train! We will leave Narvik on Train 93, the overnight to Stockholm, with refreshments available on board. (B) DAY 11 Today, we visit the Swedish National Railway Museum at Gavle transferring to/from the Museum by historic railcar. This evening is at leisure in Stockholm. (B) DAY 12 The steamship “Mariefred” will take us across Lake Maleren for a ride on the 600mm narrow gauge Ostra Sodermanlands Jarnvag. With regular trains back, you can return to Stockholm at your leisure. (B,L) DAY 13 Today, we have free time in Stockholm before travelling south this afternoon to Malmo. DAY 1 We have flights from Bristol, Gatwick, and Manchester to Porto, from where we transfer to Regua, our home for the next five nights. Dinner in the hotel is included tonight. (D) DAY 2 In the morning, we catch the regional train for a superb scenic journey along the river to the railway’s terminus at Pocinho. From here, we visit the UNESCO World Heritage Archaeological Park and Museum plus one of the prehistoric rock art sites, travelling in an all-terrain vehicle with an easy walk for the last 600m. We end this exciting day with a short trip across the river to Quinta da Pacheca where we will have a fine dinner and the opportunity to taste their wine and port. (B,D) DAY 3 This morning, our coach takes us to Casa de Mateus, famous as the palace that appears on the labels of Mateus Rose wine, for a guided tour of the house and gardens. This afternoon, we join the Douro Historic Train, a restored vintage train, travelling through breathtaking scenery of terrace vineyards and olive trees, to the riverside station at Tua and return. We end the day with dinner in a popular local restaurant. (B,D) DAY 4 We return to Pocinho this morning for the first of our two River Douro cruises. We sail along a stunning part of the valley with steep terraced vineyards and dramatic rock cliffs and is probably the most beautiful stretch of the river. A full three course lunch with wine is served on board. (B,L) DAY 5 This morning, we visit the pretty riverside town of Amarante, one of the gems of northern Portugal, with time to visit the Monastery after our walk through the town. Afterwards, we continue to the

vineyards at Quinta da Aveleda for a guided walk through their beautiful gardens before an excellent 3-course lunch and a chance to taste some of their popular wines. (B,L) DAY 6 This morning, we visit Lamego, an attractive town with Renaissance and Baroque mansions overlooked by two hills. After walking the marvellous granite staircase and exploring, we continue our day with lunch at Quinta da Casa Amarela, including their own wines and port. We return to Regua for an evening at leisure. (B,L) DAY 7 Another of the highlights of the holiday, we sail down the River Douro to Porto passing through two spectacular dams and under a series of bridges including the iconic Maria Pia railway bridge. G RAND T OUR OF THE W ESTERN S TATES This tour features some of the most exciting and scenic excursion train rides in the western states of the United States during the height of the fall colours in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and Colorado. Besides enjoying 27 train rides in these 6 western states we will visit 18 spectacular national and state parks on our journey through beautiful and breathtaking scenery.

DAY 1 Various flight options with transfers to our hotel, the 5-star Kimpton Alton Hotel. After check in, we will meet at 6.00pm to take you on a wonderful tour of San Francisco at night by rail. DAY 2 After breakfast, we ride the famous San Francisco Cable Cars to visit the interesting Muni Cable Car Museum before continuing to the small town of Felton. Here, we board the Roaring Camp and Big Trees narrow-gauge steam excursion that will take us through towering redwood groves. Afterwards, we continue north by road with great views of the famous Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco City skyline. This evening, we enjoy our ‘Welcome to San Francisco Dinner’. (B,D) DAY 3 This morning, we will make our way to the Walnut Creek Model Railroad Society’s huge HO scale model railroad with a special operating session

along the stunning Lake Tahoe ahead of our picnic lunch before continuing to the Western Pacific Railroad Museum for a special charter train around the museum grounds. We return to the hotel for our second night in Reno. (L) DAY 6 Today, we visit the Nevada State Railroad Museum to explore the history and exhibits. Afterwards, we make our way to the ghost town of Bodie where we will have a picnic lunch before walking through the nearby Tufa Towers. Finally, we visit the Laws Railroad Museum and Historical Site before making our way to Lone Pine for our overnight stay. (L) DAY 7 After breakfast, we journey to Death Valley National Park, the hottest, driest, and lowest national park in the country. Our journey continues through Las Vegas making a stop at the fabulous Hoover Dam before continuing into Arizona along the famous Route 66 Highway towards the Grand Canyon. (B,L)

Afterwards, we board Amtrak’s eastbound California Zephyr for a spectacular ride over the High Sierra Mountains and famous Donner Pass all the way to Reno, Nevada for an evening at leisure. DAY 5 After breakfast, we travel into the Comstock Mining Country to visit the wonderful wild west and historic town of Virginia City and the Virginia & Truckee Railroad workshops where you can explore their steam locomotives, diesels and historic rolling stock. Afterwards, we will journey

DAY 8 Today, we board the Grand Canyon Railway passenger train travelling in Luxury Dome Car Class. We have time to explore the Canyon and the trails before departing to Williams, continuing onwards to Sedona for our two-night stay. (B,L) DAY 9 Today, we have reservations for a spectacular train ride on the Verde Canyon Railroad with captivating panoramic views revealed in every direction. On our way back to our hotel we will make a stop to explore the mining ghost town of Jerome and Jerome State Historic Park. (B) DAY 10 After breakfast, we travel north crossing the Colorado River and following the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument until we enter Utah and the town of Kanab. (B,L) DAY 11 This morning, we enter Bryce Canyon National Park in time to enjoy the morning sunlight shining on the many Hoodoos. We continue to the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, known for its colourful rock formations. Finally, we arrive in the small town of Torrey and check in to our hotel. (B,L) DAY 12 After breakfast, we visit Capitol Reef National Park, a hidden treasure filled with cliffs, canyons, domes and bridges. We then continue to Goblin Valley State Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, and the Canyonlands National Park, all of which provide spectacular views. Finally, we go to nearby Moab for our overnight stay. (L) DAY 13 Today, we drive along the scenic Colorado River making stops at the fantastic rock formations of Castleton and Fisher Towers. At the small ghost town of Cisco, we will follow the Rocky Mountaineer passenger train to the Price River Canyon with excellent photostops along the way. After our picnic lunch, we visit Arches National Park to explore until sunset when we return to our hotel. (B,L) DAY 14 Today, we explore Goosenecks State Park which has one of the most striking examples of an entrenched river meander. Following a photostop at the balanced rock called “Mexican Hat”, we continue to Monument Valley and tour Navajo Nation’s Monument Valley Tribal Park before check in. (B,L) DAY 15 Today, we head towards the state of Colorado visiting the Galloping Goose Historical Society’s Museum and Mesa Verde National Park along the way. We continue to Durango and check-in to our hotel for our overnight stay. (B,L) DAY 16 Today, we will ride the famous Durango and Silverton Railroad through the heart of the Colorado Rockies pulled by one of the railroad’s former Rio Grande steam locomotives. Much of the journey will be in the remote and rugged wilderness of the Animas River Canyon and, on

arrival in Silverton, we will explore this classic western mining town. You will have plenty of time to get some lunch before returning to Durango for an evening at leisure. (B) DAY 17 This morning, we board the steam train on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad for a journey up and over the Rocky Mountains to Antonito, Colorado. On arrival, you will have the opportunity to photograph the crew watering and oiling the steam locomotive and visit the workshop area. Afterwards, we travel the short distance by road to Alamosa. (B,L) DAY 18 After breakfast, we visit the depot and workshops of the former Rio Grande Scenic Railroad. We then travel to nearby Sand Dunes National Park for a short visit before boarding the lunch train on the Royal Gorge Scenic Railroad for a spectacular journey enjoying a gourmet lunch on board. We continue by road to Colorado Springs for an evening at leisure. (B,L) DAY 19 After breakfast, we visit the fascinating Garden of the Gods rock formations before travelling to Manitou Springs for the morning train on the Boardmore, Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway. Here, we enjoy a spectacular 9-mile journey to the summit for breathtaking views. On our return, we have time to explore Manitou Springs before continuing to our hotel in Golden, Colorado for an evening at leisure. (B) DAY 20 After breakfast, we drive to Georgetown where we have time to explore this historic mountain mining town. We then board the morning train on the Georgetown Loop Railroad scaling an elevation of 640 feet over mountainous terrain, requiring trestles, cuts, fills, loops, and curves to Silver Plume and return. Afterwards, we visit the Colorado Railroad Museum to explore their large collection and ride around the museum grounds before returning to the hotel for our Farewell Dinner. We transfer to Zlatograd, the southernmost town in Bulgaria, and check in with time to relax, enjoy the spa, and take our evening meal.
