A wonderful steam holiday featuring a truly unique full day excursion travelling by mainline steam from Frankfurt to Meiningen for the annual Open Day at the last major steam works in Europe. Plus steam on heritage lines of various gauges. Meiningen will be awash with steam as visiting steam hauled excursions arrive from around the country to add to the locomotives in steam within the works giving footplate rides and photographic positioning - unique opportunity to enjoy what has been lost in the UK. Additionally, we enjoy heritage steam from Feldbahn to standard gauge with a vintage steam tram tour for good measure.
