★ ★ Explore Glasgow and its extensive Christmas Markets ★ ★ Visit Edinburgh’s beautiful Christmas Markets in the heart of the city ★ ★ Cruise along the Firth of Forth underneath the iconic Forth bridges ★ ★ Marvel at the vistas as we travel by train on the Highland line to Aviemore ★ ★ Steam on the former Highland Railway with the Strathspey Steam Railway ★ ★ Enjoy a tour and tasting at the Dalwhinnie Distillery ★ ★ Spend time in historic Stirling and explore the castle and Old Town DAY 1 We arrive in Stirling and check into the Stirling Highland Hotel, an attractive, historic building and formerly the city’s school. The hotel will be our base for the next four nights and we have the chance to take a wander around the Old Town before dinner. (D)

DAY 2 This morning is free for us to explore Stirling , we may wish to visit the nearby Stirling Castle, once a Royal residence and the former home of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. This afternoon, we travel by train to Glasgow for the Christmas Markets at George Square

and St Enoch Square where we can sample delicious festive food and drink and buy unique handmade gifts. (B,D) DAY 3 One of Scotland’s great rail journeys awaits today as we head north into the Cairngorms , passing dense forests and wild moors, flanked by the Grampians, on our way to the mountain resort of Aviemore .
