Whisky Galore!

We have been asked several times to organise a Scottish tour visiting different whisky-producing regions and we hate to disappoint. This tour begins in Perthshire, heads into the Cairngorms, then through tranquil Speyside to the coast, returning to Perth along the stunning coastline. Steam, a mountain railway, Edinburgh, Balmoral – we haven’t even mentioned the malt yet! Pour yourself a ‘wee dram’ and read on.

DAY 1 We arrive in Perth and check into the Salutation Hotel for one night. (D) DAY 2 Today’s journey north heads by train to Pitlochry , where a coach awaits to whisk us to Queen’s View , said to be Queen Victoria’s favourite stop-off on her journey to her Scottish residence. This famous panorama looks due west along Loch Tummel towards Glencoe. Next stop is Edradour Distillery, Scotland’s smallest distillery , which enjoys a beautiful setting and still produces hand- made malts. Continuing on the Highland Line to Aviemore, we then transfer to Nethybridge in the heart of Speyside for two nights at the Nethybridge Hotel. (B,D) DAY 3 Today begins with a steam ride on the Strathspey Steam Railway on the former Highland Railway, before we ride to the summit on the Cairngorm Funicular Railway .
