(D) DAY 2 We sail to Arran , affectionately known as ‘Scotland in Miniature’, touring the island before catching the ‘wee boat’ at Lochranza onto the Mull of Kintyre . Driving along the shores of Loch Fyne , we arrive at the Inveraray Inn for three nights. (B,D) DAY 3 We board an early morning sailing bound for Islay , with breakfast on board. Considered one of the most beautiful islands, we view some of its lovely 130 miles of coastline, with a tour and tasting at one of the distilleries for which the island is equally famous. 7 DAYS

DAY 4 We begin by coach to Oban to catch the ferry to Mull . Crossing this beautiful island, we take the short ferry as foot passengers to the sacred Isle of Iona , the burial place of over 100 Scottish kings. (B,D) DAY 5 Leaving Inveraray, we transfer to Crianlarich to board our train on the northern branch of the West Highland Line over remote and breathtaking Rannoch Moor , descending into Fort William under the gaze of Ben Nevis . Here we spend two nights at the Imperial Hotel. (B,D) DAY 6 We travel by coach through breathtaking scenery to Kyle of Lochalsh, crossing the Skye Bridge onto the island itself. After spending a little time in the island’s capital, Portree , we return southwards to Armadale to catch the ferry back to the mainland at Mallaig. Here we join the West Highland Line again, experiencing the stunning final leg of the railway, crossing the Glenfinnan Viaduct , back to Fort William. (B,D) DAY 7 If travelling by train enjoy the scenery of the West Highland Line again en route to Glasgow and homeward stations. (B)
